Dr. Keller attended medical school at the University of Chicago. He did his surgical internship and orthopedic surgical residency at the University of Chicago and founded the Center for Sports Medicine there. Dr. Keller then joined the United States Olympic Committee's Medical Training Site where he did his Sportsmedicine Fellowship in arthroscopic and reconstructive ligament surgery of the knee. During that time, he served as Associate Team Physician to the 1984 United States Olympic Soccer Team.
Dr. Keller is the founder and medical director of Sportsmedicine Fairbanks. He is the Consultant in Sports Medicine an Orthopedic Surgery at the Sitka Medical Center. He is a Fellow and former Trustee of the American College of Sports Medicine. He serves as Team Physician for the University of Alaska--Fairbanks and for Fairbanks area high school teams. Dr. Keller is Director of the Sportsmedicine Program for the Fairbanks Northstar Borough School District and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medical Sciences at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He has served as Chairman of the Arctic Winter Games Medical Committee, and as Team Physician for Team Alaska. He is a founding member, Past President, and past Regional Representative of the Alaska Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine. He is an Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor for the State of Alaska.
